The Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section started its new social calendar Aug. 26 with a Happy Hour at the Ivy Ulta Bar Downtown.

Happy Hours provide YLS members with a chance to mingle and network outside of the office and the courtroom to promote collegiality in the Fourth Judicial Circuit.

“We had a great turnout for the first event of the new YLS social year with about 100 people attending,” said Christian George, event organizer and YLS Board of Governors member. “We hope this is a sign of things to come and we invite JBA members to come out for our next event at Mark’s, Sept. 24, at 4:30 p.m. following the swearing in of new attorneys.”

Members were treated to food, drinks and a prize drawing.

The YLS is composed of area young lawyers who are 35 years old or younger or who have been practicing less than five years.
