• Marks Gray attorney Giselle Carson will speak to the ABC Women’s Council at its April 19 meeting, planned 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Rogers Towers offices in Riverplace Tower. Carson will talk about employment verification requirements and offer information about audit preparation and avoiding penalties. • City Council member Ronnie Fussell recently stepped down from the council Finance Committee, explaining that newly elected council member Doyle Carter expressed an interest in joining the panel. Fussell made way for Carter to “really get into the budget.” Also, Fussell injured his foot recently while retrieving his dog, who had strayed into traffic. That limited his mobility. Fussell will remain chair of the Public Health and Safety Committee.

• David Gueterman was named Foundation Financial Group’s chief operating officer for the company’s newly formed financial services affiliates. Gueterman oversees Foundation Financial Group’s insurance services, retirement services and tax services affiliate companies. The new ventures were launched in January and complement Foundation Financial Group’s core mortgage-lending business.

• Strategic Capital Partners CEO Gene Zink is the keynote speaker for the NAIOP of Northeast Florida quarterly meeting at 11:30 a.m. April 28 at the Omni. Zink became involved with Purpose Built Communities in 2010 when Strategic Capital Partners partnered with the nonprofit to revitalize the Indianapolis neighborhood of Avondale Meadows. • Flagler completed a deal for Cisco Systems, Inc. to lease 15,995 square feet of space to consolidate its Jacksonville offices into the Deerwood South office park. There, Cisco joins the recently relocated Adecco Group North America, Fortegra Financial and Black Diamond Performance Reporting. Flagler Director of Leasing Gary Cox represented Flagler in the transaction. Kaycee Gardner, vice president for Jones Lang LaSalle Brokerage Inc., represented Cisco.

• The CoreLogic information service reports that Jacksonville home prices fell 12.85 percent in February from February 2010. Excluding distressed sales, prices fell 2.6 percent. Nationally, prices fell 6.7 percent, but just 0.1 percent for traditional sales.
