The Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce chose Houston for its 31st Annual Leadership Trip scheduled Sept. 27-29.
Houston is the fourth largest city in the U.S.
Chamber travelers will study how Houston’s leaders addressed key initiatives related to the city’s job growth and development, including generating shipping traffic to the city’s port, downtown revitalization and education reform.
“We selected Houston as our destination this year because we consider it an aspirational city for Jacksonville,” said Chamber Chair-elect Tom Van Berkel, the chair, president and CEO of Jacksonville-based insurance carrier The Main Street America Group.
The incoming chair historically has chosen the destination city for the annual trip.
