JaxBiz, the political affiliate of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, released a statement Wednesday afternoon that it will not endorse either of the mayoral candidates for the May 17 general election.
JaxBiz said in the statement that while its executive committee commends both Democrat Alvin Brown and Republican Mike Hogan for their business focus, it will instead encourage chamber members to fully understand each candidate’s positions and how they align with chamber priorities.
The statement went on to state the committee recognized “the appeal of each to portions of chamber membership” and will provide information to its members on chamber priorities and the candidates’ positions.
JaxBiz endorsed candidate Audrey Moran in the March 22 first election, but she came in third behind Hogan and Brown.
