For 36 years, Pat Barber (left) has served as branch manager of the Duval Federal Credit Union and never stepped foot into Chief Judge Don Moran’s chambers. Thursday, she was surprised to be called to come see the judge. While entering his office, hands raised, she exclaimed jokingly, “I didn’t do it!” but she wasn’t in trouble. It was just the opposite. Moran and others were there to present her with a plaque and words of appreciation for her service prior to her retirement June 1. Barber was surprised and said she would miss the people she’s befriended, but will have more time to spend with her grandchildren. She manages the branch at the Duval County Courthouse and City Hall.
