Wallace, Daniel submitted for First District Court of Appeal

The Judicial Nominating Commission for the First District Court of Appeal submitted a list of seven candidates to Gov. Rick Scott for consideration for two vacancies created by the resignations of Judges Charles J. Kahn and Peter Webster.

Scott will decide on the appointments.

The list of seven includes two Fourth Judicial Circuit judges — Circuit Judges Jim Daniel and Waddell Wallace. Both are from Jacksonville.

The commission received 25 applications and interviewed 16 candidates April 20-21 in Tallahassee before making its selections to submit.

Others up for the appointments include Miguel Olivella Jr., Charles Stampelos, Ronald Swanson, Jessica Enciso Varn and Stephanie Williams Ray.

Swanson is from Pensacola and the other four are from Tallahassee.
