From left, Mayor Alvin Brown, JEDC Sports and Entertainment Coordinator Michael Bouda, University of Florida men’s basketball head coach Billy Donovan and assistant to the head coach Darren Hertz at the City’s “Holiday Hoops” basketball game Friday between UF and Rider University, of Lawrenceville, N.J. They were joined by 3,478 fans at the Arena Downtown. Friday’s game was the third annual for the Holiday Hoops series. Attendees watched the Gators take home a 90-69 victory and also had the chance to win five basketballs autographed by the Gators, which were given away at halftime. “Attendance was a little less than we had hoped for, but we had decent walk-up sales,” said Bouda.
