Mayor Alvin Brown made six appointments Wednesday, including the first Military Affairs officer and new Fire and Rescue chief.
Brown appointed Victory Guillory as director of the newly created Military Affairs and Disabled Services Department. Guillory most recently served as commander of the U.S. Navy’s Southern Command as well as the commander of the U.S. 4th Fleet.
He’ll begin Jan. 16 and have an annual salary of $119,000.
Martin Senterfitt, the City’s Emergency Preparedness Division chief since 2008, has been appointed the City’s new Fire and Rescue Chief. He began his career with the department in 1988.
He’ll have an annual salary of $135,000.
Brown also appointed three Fire and Rescue Division chiefs. They include Ivan Mote, who will serve as Rescue division chief; Chip Drysdale, who will serve as Fire Operations division chief; and Eleanor Byrd, who will serve as Training division chief.
Each will have an annual salary of $116,350.
Brown’s last appointment was placing Jarik Conrad in the permanent role of the City’s Employee Services director. He has been serving as acting director of the department and served as a volunteer staff person on Brown’s personnel transition committee.
He will have an annual salary of $120,000.
All appointments must be confirmed by City Council.
