• Peter Rummell, principal of the Jacksonville-based Rummell Co., is the incoming chair of the Urban Land Institute, a global nonprofit research and education institute with nearly 30,000 members. The group focuses on responsible land use. Rummell, a longtime ULI trustee and former chair of the ULI Foundation, will serve on a voluntary basis for a two-year term that begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2013.

• The Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce put out a release Wednesday afternoon correcting information it sent in a Monday evening e-mail about U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson. “The Chamber received incorrect information from a previously reliable source regarding Senator Nelson’s participation on the Armed Services Committee,” it said, explaining the “drafted” e-mail was “inadvertently distributed” and incorrectly stated Florida will have no representation on either the Senate or House Armed Services Committee.

• The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors board of directors voted to support candidate Mike Hogan in the mayor’s race. NEFAR will issue its complete slate of political candidate endorsements on Monday.

• Neiman Marcus is coming to town - at least for a day. From 7-9 p.m. April 7, Neiman Marcus Orlando will stage “Runway to Dignity 2011” to benefit Dignity U Wear, featuring spring fashions from designers. It takes place in a clear tent overlooking the St. Johns River at the Times-Union Center. Event co-chairs are Nan Coyle, Sallyn Pajcic and Jeanne Ward. Tickets are $500. Dignity U Wear distributes new clothes to organizations that serve people in need. For information, visit www.dignityuwear.org.

• The next “Clara’s at the Cathedral” luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. Friday. The menu of soup, salads and side dishes also will feature fried fish and cheddar cheese grits and smothered pork chops. Entertainment will be provided by pianist Dan Beard. The weekly luncheon, a partnership of Clara White Mission and St. John’s Cathedral, trains students in production, presentation and front-of-the-house restaurant service.

• Speaking of St. John’s Cathedral, Duval County Public Schools Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals will join a panel discussion there next week on advances in education. The Jacksonville Leadership Breakfast will be sponsored by St. John’s Cathedral with the support of the duPont Fund. It starts at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. Panelists include Robert Hawke, principal of the new KIPP Impact Middle School in Jacksonville, and Tracy Tousey, program director of community initiatives at The Community Foundation in Jacksonville.
