• Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio joins Jaguars CEO Wayne Weaver, Team Teal commissioner Tony Boselli and Touchdown Jacksonville founder Carl Cannon next Friday to kick off the Team Teal/Touchdown Jacksonville ticket-selling season. The public is invited to EverBank Field at 6 pm. Feb. 11 for “Team Teal Kickoff Rally 2011.” The event is the re-launch of Team Teal to sell season tickets for the coming season.
• Four sitting Florida Public Service Commissioners whose nominations were pulled back this week by Gov. Rick Scott can continue to serve through the legislative session and beyond, as can 164 other appointments who were withdrawn. “The withdrawn appointments will continue to serve until a successor qualifies, and they can vote,” Scott spokesperson Jenn Meale told the News Service of Florida. Meale added that the withdrawn nominees aren’t precluded from re-applying for their positions, including the PSC Commissioners.

• Hazardous waste to toss? Take it tomorrow, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., to the Ed Austin Regional Park along Monument Road. It’s the first of five events this year by the City Solid Waste Division, which will collect household hazardous waste and electronic waste (e-waste). The next are Feb. 26 at Crystal Springs Park, March 12 at Blue Cypress Park, April 9 at Mandarin Park and May 14 at the Jacksonville Beach Public Works Department operations and maintenance facility. • New year, new websites. The City of Jacksonville has enhanced its website with some new photos and features. Also, Visit Jacksonville is redesigning “www.visitjacksonville.com” with social media, video and other tools, features, changes and enhancements.
• Petticoat-Schmitt Civil Contractors Inc. was awarded the contract to complete the San Marco streetscape improvements by the City of Jacksonville. The $6.1 million construction project will have nine phases and take place over a two-year period. The project features the installation of new storm drains, water mains, sanitary sewer, buried electric lines, roadway, sidewalks and new landscaping along with two roundabouts at Naldo Avenue and Landon Avenue.
• Two attorneys, Lindsay Cole and Renee Holterman, have withdrawn their applications for the position of general counsel of Neptune Beach. The City plans to have a new attorney in place before current attorney Chris White steps down at the end of the month.
