• Actors David Keith and Aaron Metchik are two of the personalities on tap for the 3rd Annual Amelia Island Film Festival, planned Feb. 24-27 at sites in Fernandina Beach. Metchik, actor, writer and director, will attend the opening night feature of his “10 Years Later.” Keith should be on hand for the showing of “Beneath the Blue” Feb. 26. • Preston Haskell (interviewed, right) is hitting the trail to share the findings of the Northbank Redevelopment Task Force he chaired. Haskell is scheduled to speak at the Jacksonville Community Council Inc. “Issues and Answers” event noon-1 p.m. Feb. 17 at JCCI offices, 2434 Atlantic Blvd. The event is free and open to the public. • Fewer bankruptcies were filed in January in the Middle District of Florida compared to January 2010. Last month, 3,919 bankruptcy cases were filed in the 35 counties of the district, 13 percent below the 4,499 filed last year. In the 16-county Jacksonville division, 650 cases were filed, down 8.5 percent from 710 last year. In the district, the only category that rose over the year was the Chapter 15 category, with one case this January and none last year. Chapter 15 deals with insolvency cases involving debtors, assets, claimants and other parties of interest involving more than one country.
• The National Peace Corps Association and the Peace Corps plan an “Around the World Expo” Feb. 27 at the Main Library Downtown. It’s free and open to the public.
