• University of North Florida senior Joshua Woods is one of the first recipients of the David A. Stein Graduate Fellowship Endowment Fund established by philanthropist David Stein. Woods, a communications major, will receive $5,000 to pursue graduate studies at UNF. Stein, a Jacksonville business executive, placed UNF in his estate for $1 million to establish the David A. Stein Graduate Fellowship Endowment Fund. Ashley Valdez, a health science major, will also receive $5,000.

• The Rogers Towers law firm recently launched a new website to provide consumers of legal services with access to pertinent information about the firm. Visit www.rtlaw.com.

• The schools of Engineering and Computing as well as the departments of Physics and Chemistry at UNF have partnered with other community organizations to sponsor “Expanding Your Horizons North Florida,” a regional conference that encourages young women to explore science, technology, engineering and math careers, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 26, in the University Center on the UNF campus. Cost for the conference is $10 per girl and $5 per parent. Lunch is provided. Pre-registration is required. Visit www.eyhreg.org/conferences/UNF.

• Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce Small Business Leader of the Year Janet Herrick will be the keynote speaker Tuesday at the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. Women’s Council. Herrick is CEO of Onsite Environmental Consulting. The meeting is 11:30 a.m. at the Rogers Towers offices in Riverplace Tower.
