• The Jacksonville Women’s Network plans a “Tribute to Edna Saffy” luncheon program at 11:30 a.m. March 8 at River City Brewing Co. It’s International Women’s Day. Saffy, who died in June, was a leader in the women’s rights movement and a founder of the network. It’s also the 100th anniversary of the women’s day celebration.
• 89.9 WJCT-FM said its call-in radio program, First Coast Connect, will present a series of specials featuring the candidates. Beginning Feb. 17, host Melissa Ross will present a series of six one-hour specials, 9-10 a.m., each featuring a mayoral candidate. The specials will be live. Listeners can call, e-mail or tweet their questions during the program. Warren Lee is Feb. 17; Rick Mullaney is Feb. 22; Alvin Brown is Feb. 23; Audrey Moran is Feb. 24; Mike Hogan is Feb. 28; and Steve Irvine is March 15.
• WJCT is also partnering with local civic and media organizations to bring voters an informational website, www.thinkvotejacksonville.org, and a series of debates that will air live on WJCT-TV and 89.9 WJCT-FM in March.
• Miss the office while at a PGA Tour event? Now you can carry mobile devices for use in select areas on the golf course and with the volume setting on silent. The Tour said phone calls can be made or received in designated areas, such as concession stands. Fans can send or receive messages and check data on the golf course away from play. But no video-recording is permitted and no photography will be allowed during official competition rounds.

• Ron Salem was elected Tuesday as chair of the Sports & Entertainment Board of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission. Salem is the director of PharMerica-Jacksonville, a long-term care pharmacy. He also served as the board’s chair 2000-2001 and 2003-2004. Carl Cannon was elected vice chair.
• Winn-Dixie gained 2.7 percent in consumer satisfaction last year, said the American Customer Satisfaction Index. Winn-Dixie rose to a 76 rating, above the 75 average for supermarkets. Publix dropped 2.3 percent, but remained No. 1 at an 84 rating. Walmart was stable at 71 percent. Whole Foods was No. 2, up 3.9 percent to 79.
