Jacksonville’s home sales remained down over last year in the latest statistics released by the state’s real estate association.
Florida Realtors, in its November survey, showed that home sales in the Jacksonville area were off by 17 percent - that was 912 sales in November compared to 1,101 a year ago - with a median sales price drop of 5 percent, $151,600 to $144,700.
Condo sales were up by 26 percent, with 166 sold compared to 132, but the sales price was off 8 percent from $90,000 to $83,1000.
The statewide numbers reflected Northeast Florida.
In Florida, home sales were off by 15 percent and the prices were down 5 percent, and condo sales rose 11 percent while the prices were off 16 percent.
Only three of the state’s Metropolitan Statistical Areas had more home sales than last November: the Melbourne area, Miami and Ocala. Home prices rose only in the MSAs of Fort Lauderdale, Fort Walton Beach, Melbourne and Tallahassee.
