It was full speed ahead for the first monthly luncheon of the new year of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association.

Instead of a speaker, the association held a speed networking event among its members to provide a chance to meet new people and develop new business contacts.

About 30 people braved the chilly temperatures Downtown to attend the luncheon at The River Club Wednesday.

Members were given three minutes to introduce themselves and they were asked to tell their partner what law firm they were with, what field of practice they were in, how long they have been practicing, where they went to law school and something personal.

“It’s a good way to get to know your fellow members,” said Stephanie Harriett, JWLA vice president, who emceed the event.

JWLA typically holds luncheons on the second Wednesday of the month at The River Club. Its next event is Feb. 9
