Rainy day for MLK Day parade

An overcast sky, light rain and a chilly breeze didn’t deter several thousand stalwart parade watchers from lining up Downtown Monday to witness the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade.

Marching bands, high school color guards and JROTC units were joined by local service clubs, organizations, businesses and even a few candidates in the March 22 election in the procession that stretched from the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta along Water and East Bay streets to Metropolitan Park.
