Alhambra Theatre & Dining owner Craig Smith told the Meninak Club of Jacksonville Monday, a little more than a year after reopening the dinner theater, that 10,000 fans responded within 30 days of his announcement in August 2009 that he was buying and renovating the business. Many said they would patronize the Beach Boulevard landmark. “Lo and behold, they have,” he said. Smith said that 26 of the 32 performances featuring former M*A*S*H star Loretta Swit sold out. In addition to shows like the current “A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline,” Smith also lined up another M*A*S*H star, Jamie Farr, who played Sgt. Klinger, for a show in September. Smith is also working on dates for a show to feature “Cheers” star George Wendt, who played Norm.
