• Peter Rummell, principal of the Rummell Company, took over as chair of the global Urban Land Institute, a 30,000-member nonprofit research and education organization. It’s a voluntary two-year position that ends June 30, 2013. A member of ULI since 1983, Rummell began his 40-year development career working at the Sea Pines Company in Hilton Head, S.C., followed by other positions, including president of the Disney Development Company and chair of Walt Disney Imagineering, where he guided major developments including the Celebration community. He was chair and CEO The St. Joe Co.

• The Jacksonville Urban League plans a Head Start program job fair 10 a.m.-5 p.m. July 11 at the league office, 903 W. Union St. Applications are accepted for positions such as education supervisor, teacher, home visitor, infant toddler specialist, classroom substitute, food service facility aide, custodian and part-time bus driver. • Tanner Bishop hired Casey Arnold and Charles Hardage as associates in the firm. Arnold, a former assistant state attorney, practices in the areas of commercial litigation, land use, and white collar criminal defense. Hardage, former law clerk to Fourth District Appellate Judge Dorian K. Damoorgian, focuses on commercial litigation and appellate advocacy.

• LBA Certified Public Accountants promoted four staff members. Rebecca King, Nick Hautala, Stephen Clements and Will Lomax were promoted to managers in the Audit Services Department.

• The Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida added two employees. Chris Folds is public policy and advocacy assistant and Leah Kremp is administrative assistant. Folds will research and support nonprofit advocacy and lobby at the local, state and federal levels, plus develop and implement new advocacy trainings and projects.

• Gov. Rick Scott told the Daily Record in May that he envisioned two terms as governor and he repeated his intentions Sunday, according to the News Service of Florida. The service reported that Scott said during a television interview in Tampa that he will seek re-election in 2014, if his wife allows him. “Unless my wife tells me she’s dumping me, I’m running for a second term,” said Scott.

• Jacksonville gas prices are down 2 cents over the week and 17 cents over the month today, falling to an average $3.428 a gallon for unleaded. The price is up 82 cents over the year, however. Still, the Jacksonville average price is lower than the national price by almost 15 cents.
