The Sales and Marketing Council has a new director.
She is Corey Fountain, a Jacksonville native who replaces Sarah Lane. Lane was on the job less than a year and had to resign when her husband was transferred.
Fountain actually looked at the job a year ago when Amanda Blakeslee left.
“I was very interested but I was working on a political campaign at the time and it just wasn’t possible,” said the Arlington Country Day and Florida State University graduate. “Then Sarah left and my campaign was over, so it worked out well.”
She had been working for Holly Benson, who was running to be the state’s Attorney General. Benson, who lost the race, is a familiar name as she formerly was secretary of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the state agency that licenses numerous professions including real estate and construction.
As SMC director, Fountain will coordinate the activities of one of the area’s most active associations. It is part of the Northeast Florida Builders Association and includes Realtors, builders and marketers.
