Sales for the Jacksonville area stayed about the same in comparing month-to-month over last year, according to numbers released late last month by Florida Realtors.
The state’s real estate association gathers data from regional offices and the Jacksonville area, which covers Northeast Florida, showed a slight decrease in home sales and a 10 percent increase in condo sales.
Prices dropped slightly in home sales and were flat in condo sales.
In homes, the Jacksonville area reported May sales of 1,240, a 5 percent decline over May 2010. The average price was $135,100, a 7 percent drop.
In condos, there were 228 sales, a 10 percent increase, and the average price of $70,400 was almost equal last year’s number.
Throughout Florida, home sales showed a 3 percent increase, to 17,228, but a 5 percent drop in average price to $135,500.
Condo sales were up 17 percent in the state to 8,338 and the average price was up 2 percent to $98,200.
