The National Association of Home Builders will invest more than $8 million to assure the housing industry remains a key cog in the nation’s economic rebound.

Amid proposed changes to the housing finance system and threatened elimination of the mortgage interest deduction, NAHB launched a public awareness campaign this month to influence Congressional and White House policy-makers.

NAHB is urging members to take part in two Congressional District Works Weeks and garner Congressional support for HR 1755, the Home Construction Lending Regulatory Improvement Act of 2011, which will loosen construction lending standards.

Florida’s delegation to the board meeting was led by NAHB First Vice Chairman Barry Rutenberg, State Representative Karen Koelemij, and FHBA Senior Officers John C. “Chuck” Fowke and Dave Carter.
