Wells Fargo ended its Downtown parade Wednesday at its new address, 1 Independent Square. One of Downtown’s iconic buildings will soon have bright yellow “Wells Fargo” signage at its top.
After being led through the streets by the Florida A&M University marching band and employees carrying a banner that read, “Investing in the future of this community,” Wells Fargo executives presented checks totaling $80,000 to five local nonprofit organizations.
The American Cancer Society received a check for $30,000; Second Harvest Food Bank accepted a donation of $20,000; Ronald McDonald House received $15,000; the American Red Cross, $10,000; and the Children’s Home Society received $5,000.
“We’re proud of the heritage of the company. It’s what the stagecoach represents. Wells Fargo has given us our swagger again,” said Scott Coble, Wells Fargo North Florida regional president.
