It was a changing of the guard Thursday for the Young Lawyers Section of The Jacksonville Bar Association.

Following the annual “Noon In June” event, the group held its annual meeting Downtown at The Carling, where it elected and swore in leadership for 2011-12 and handed out awards.

Leadership for the year includes: Elizabeth Howard of Boyd & Jenerette, president; Michael Orr of Dawson Orr, president-elect; Michelle Barnett of Alexander DeGance Barnett, secretary; and Patrick Kilbane of GrayRobinson, treasurer.

Several of the seats on the YLS board of governors were elected. Renee Maxey of Holland & Knight won the election for Seat 6 in the only contested race on the ballot. Maxey will serve a one-year term, while incumbents Christian George of Liles, Gavin, Costantino, George & Dearing (Seat 1), Lindsay Tygart of Murphy & Anderson (Seat 3) and Eric Roberson of McGuireWoods (Seat 5), all were re-elected for two-year terms. They join Bradley Blair of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith (Seat 2) and Fraz Ahmed of Kubicki Draper (Seat 4) on the board.
