The area’s second Metro Diner is scheduled to open in April at the Shops at Julington Creek in Mandarin.

The first Metro Diner opened in 1992 near San Marco along Hendricks Avenue.

“The Metro Diner in San Marco has been one of Jacksonville’s favorite restaurants for nearly 20 years,” said Mike Koppenhafer, president of Fisher Koppenhafer Architecture and Interior Design, which designed the new restaurant.

The Julington Creek Metro Diner is accepting April and May advertising for its restaurant place mats. The place-mat advertising has been used at the San Marco location.

The Shops at Julington Creek, at San Jose Boulevard and Julington Creek Road, also features The Fresh Market grocery store.

The shopping center was designed by Fisher Koppenhafer Architecture and Interior

Design.
