Rapp told members Monday that he wants Northeast Florida’s people and companies to become more involved in the annual worldwide-watched event. The May 9-15 event at TPC Sawgrass, in Ponte Vedra, brings in big-name professional golfers, global exposure and millions for philanthropy, with a $50 million goal over the next 10 years for youth-related charities. Rapp, about a year on the job, said he’s “knocking on wood” that “Tiger most likely will be here,” referring to Tiger Woods but eliciting a shout from member Tiger Tari that “I’m here!”
