• The Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida and 25 regional partners will launch “Northeast Florida Counts,” a resource for the seven-county area that will feature 175 regional indicators in the areas of health, environment, education, economy, public safety and transportation. • Speaking of health, the Fit For Life Initiative is scheduled June 4, with a walk beginning at 8 a.m. at the Bob Hayes Sports Complex at 5054 Soutel Drive, followed by “dine and dialogue” at 10 a.m. at the Reed Educational Campus at 1934 Lentie Road. • Play rugby? Want to? The 2011 Axemen plan tryouts and a training camp this weekend, starting with a players’ meeting at 6:15 p.m. Friday at Hodges Stadium at the University of North Florida. A full day Saturday includes a 4 p.m. full-contact scrimmage, which the public can attend for $5 and with concessions that include “the always popular $1 beer.” Camp follows Sunday, too. • Hungry fans at the Arena now have another option. Jacksonville-based Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q will serve its barbecue classics at the venue. SMG Jacksonville and SAVOR Jacksonville, the exclusive caterer and food service provider at the Arena, announced the partnership Wednesday. “The Bono’s brand is a great addition to our food and beverage program,” said Mike Kenny, SAVOR director of food and beverage.
• Correction: Gov. Rick Scott is required to appoint a replacement for circuit judge in the Fourth Judicial Circuit from the nominations submitted by the Fourth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission after the candidates have been certified.
