The Jacksonville Bar Association and the Jacksonville Jaguars are teaming up again this year to host two of The JBA’s signature events June 3 at EverBank Field: (1) the outstanding 2011 Annual Raymond Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Seminar and (2) Paws and Laws, The JBA/Jaguars social event featuring a wine-tasting and movie night.

The big JBA/Jaguars day kicks off with the Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Seminar, one of The JBA’s premier CLE programs, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Jaguars’ team meeting room. This year, the Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Seminar features its usual array of dynamic and engaging presentations, including:

• Melissa Pigott, Ph.D., Director of Research, Magnus Research Consultants, “Maximizing Voir Dire”;

• Fred Tromberg, Law Offices of Fred Tromberg, “Board Certification Process for Civil Trial Law”;

• Professor Alexander Moody, Florida Coastal School of Law, “Evidence as Electronically Stored Information”;

• Jeff Davis, CEO, Legal Art Works, “How to put your audience to sleep and get mediocre results! What not to do, and how to transform the way you present your information using more effective demonstrative evidence”;

•Angelo M. Pattaca, Jr., Terrell Hogan Ellis Yegelwel, P.A, “Telling The Story When You Don’t Have A Time Machine,” including an overview of the Engle progeny tobacco litigation;

• Roger Dodd, Spohrer Dodd, P.L., “Advanced Cross Examination”;

• Rebecca Creed and Bryan Gowdy, Creed & Gowdy, P.A., “Preservation of Error at Trial”; and

• Judicial Panel discussion on “How NOT to Alienate the Fact-Finder,” featuring a panel of judges: Harvey Schlesinger, U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Florida; Henry Adams Jr., U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Florida; Waddell Wallace, III, Circuit Judge, Fourth Judicial Circuit; Jack Schemer, Circuit Judge, Fourth Judicial Circuit; and Karen K. Cole, Circuit Judge, Fourth Judicial Circuit; moderator Michael Freed, with Brennan Manna & Diamond, PL.

To register for this phenomenal program, please complete the registration form located online at www.jaxbar.org by Friday. The registration fee is $195 for JBA members, $275 for nonmembers, and $50 for student members. It includes breakfast and lunch. Eight (8) hours of CLE credit have been requested for the Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Seminar.

Immediately following the Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Seminar, The JBA and the Jaguars will again host Paws and Laws, the very successful social evening from last year with a new twist. Similar to last year, Paws and Laws will begin this year with a wine-tasting sponsored by The Grotto at 5 p.m. and then segue into an open bar and dinner at 6:30 p.m., where the Jaguars will give a presentation. The wine-tasting, dinner and open bar will take place in the Terrace Suite.

At the conclusion of dinner, attendees will view a special screening of “My Cousin Vinny” on the Jumbotron screens inside EverBank Field from the field level or the Terrace Suite seats.

Paws and Laws tickets and sponsorship packages are available for general admission and VIP levels. Attendees of the Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Seminar receive one free general admission ticket to Paws and Laws.

General admission tickets are $20 per person and include a traditional wine-tasting, hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner, and an open bar with call brands. VIP tickets are $50 per person and feature an upscale wine-tasting, peppered strip loin and braised chicken for dinner and a selection of premium brands for the open bar. Sponsorships of 10 general admission tickets can be purchased for $500 and sponsorships of 10 VIP tickets can be purchased for $1,000.

Proceeds raised from the sponsorships will be used to purchase Jaguar tickets for underprivileged citizens of Jacksonville. Sponsors will be recognized on the video boards and VIP sponsors will be showcased more often.

Please show your support of The JBA and the Jaguars by teaming up with them for the Ehrlich seminar and the Paws and Laws. Jacksonville proved to the nation the past football season that our great city is an NFL city and we need to continue to show our pride this year.

We cannot allow the lockout to dampen our spirit or civic pride in Jacksonville. The Jaguars are a great asset to Jacksonville, including our economy, our charities and our community.
