The 56th annual Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair opens at 5 p.m. today in the shadow of EverBank Field.
Along with learning about Florida crops and how to identify different types of farm animals, attendees can enjoy amusement rides and food vendors along the midway.
The fair has an estimated economic impact on Duval County in excess of $10 million, said Gayle Hart, director of marketing for the annual Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair.
The impact to the City of Jacksonville through lease revenues and revenues from parking during the 12 days of the fair is annually in excess of $195,000, she said.
Some new attractions include NoJoe’s Clown Circus, Civil Air Patrol Day Nov. 11 and seven nights of laser light shows.
Also new this year is Wine Down Sunday wine-tasting with Magic 107.3 and ABC Fine Wine and Spirits from 2-4 p.m.
