• Dwaine Stevens, the media and community relations manager for the Jacksonville Division of Publix Super Markets Inc., is the program speaker for the JAX Chamber South Council at lunch today at Carrabba’s at Baymeadows Road and Florida 9A. Information: www.southcouncil.org.

• To accommodate the surge of holiday travelers, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority will open Economy Lot 3 at Jacksonville International Airport from Wednesday through Nov. 30, or until the lot fills up, for a flat fee of $20, payable with cash or credit card upon entry. Free shuttle service is available during the time the lot is open. Vehicles that remain in Economy Lot 3 after Nov. 30 will be towed at the owner’s expense. Other parking options include Economy Lots 1 and 2 ($4 a day), daily surface lot ($8 per day), the daily garage ($14 per day) or the hourly garage ($18 per day). • More from America Recycles Day last week in Jacksonville: In addition to the paper, cardboard and magazines collected, the event brought in 90 cellphones, 100 chargers and 129 pair of shoes. The phones were collected for the Hubbard House domestic violence shelter and the shoes were collected for Soles4Souls for distribution to those in need.

• The City approved tenant build-out for the Brown Derby at 1068 Park St. by Kollar Brothers Inc. at a project cost of $165,000.

• In the medical arena, Bahri Construction Inc. is building out space for the Bekker Medical Office on the third floor at 1045 Riverside Ave. at a project cost of $82,000; and Commercial Interiors is renovating space for Physicians for Better Jacksonville LLC at 10475 Centurion Parkway N., north corridor, third floor, at a cost of $42,000.

• On the industrial side, the City approved a permit for Center Brothers Inc. of Florida to handle a project for Mercedes-Benz at 13470 International Parkway at a project cost of $230,791.

• In the office area, Dav-Interior Contractors is renovating 5,000 square feet of space for T-Systems at 8000 Baymeadows Way at a project cost of $332,460; Dav-Lin also is handling tenant build-out for U.S. Legal Support at 225 Water St., Suite 1450, at a cost of $70,595.

• What’s up overhead? • Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. said it has joined forces with Feeding America to launch the Give a Meal program, which gives Winn-Dixie guests and team members the opportunity to help provide food to nearly 37 million Americans — including more than 14 million children — facing hunger during the holidays. Give a Meal runs through Jan. 3 at all of Winn-Dixie’s 482 stores in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Every $1 donated during the campaign helps provide eight meals to people in need.

• Raffle tickets are available for a Jaguar football signed by Marcedes Lewis. Proceeds will benefit Community Connections and the Paralegal Association of Florida First Coast chapter’s scholarship fund. The drawing will be held Dec. 15.
