The grounds crew at the Landing was busy Monday morning installing the stage around the Christmas tree in the courtyard.

It’s the site of Friday evening’s 25th annual lighting of Jacksonville’s Christmas tree celebration with special guests that include country music artists Branch & Dean, Christian singer Kelley Rees and jazz pianist-vocalist Noel Freidline.

Saturday evening, the Northbank Riverwalk will be a prime viewing spot for the Annual Light Parade of boats in the St. Johns River.

The stage also will be used by more than 80 choral groups, dance teams and other community performers who will entertain visitors this year during the holiday season.

Also this week, the Friday Market will have extended hours from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and it will be open 2-9 p.m. Saturday.
