In addition to the new boutique at the Landing, one of the riverfront mall’s established retailers has a new home a few doors down from its original location.
AlyCat, the custom etching, engraving and handmade jewelry store, now has about five times more retail space and a larger production facility.
Alyson Peder started the business in 1992 when she wanted some custom art etched on her motorcycle, but couldn’t find anywhere to have the work done just the way she wanted it done.
She decided to do the art herself, soon developed a following among cycle owners and then discovered Adamec Bike Night at the Landing.
She opened the store in July 2010, and this week she set up shop in the new, larger space. It’s open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
