Several new paw prints, in Jacksonville Jaguars teal, have been spotted Downtown, including (right) in front of The Carling on West Adams Street.
The sidewalk decorations are a project of the Downtown Council of the Jax Chamber, the same group responsible for the trail of bright yellow paw prints in the middle of East Bay Street from the Main Street Bridge to EverBank Field.
Downtown Council Past President Jepp Walter and several volunteers are painting the teal prints on private property for a suggested donation of $50 per print. The funds are used to support the council’s community service projects.
Walter said the paint is donated by Duval Paint Co. and it’s the “official, authentic” shade of teal used on the team’s uniforms.
So far, the prints have shown up at Regions Bank on the Northbank, Synovus Bank on the Southbank, the Jax Chamber along Independent Drive and at City Council member Jim Love’s State Farm Insurance office in Riverside, said Walter.
“We’ll go anywhere in the city,” he said.
