Former Planning and Development Department Deputy Director John Crofts and his wife, Annette, accepted a framed City Council resolution Tuesday night honoring him for 39 years of service to the City. Crofts was one of the City department leaders who lost jobs in Mayor Alvin Brown’s move to cut appointees. Crofts’ last day with the City was Aug. 15, according to the resolution. “The City Council desires to commend Mr. Crofts as an asset worthy of emulation and honor for his unwavering diligence,” said the resolution. “He will be sorely missed within the halls of government.”
