• Scott Wick joined the Jacksonville office of Reznicsek, Fraser, White & Shaffer as a tax attorney in the Corporate Group. He received his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida in 2011 and his J.D. from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2010. 

• Attorney A. Wellington Barlow has joined Assistant State Attorney Mark Borello in running for Circuit Judge, Group 29, in the 2012 election cycle. Judge Charles Arnold will retire from the seat in 2012.

• The statewide Florida law firm of Fowler White Boggs and the Fort Lauderdale-based firm of Atkinson, Diner, Stone, Mankuta & Ploucha announced plans to merge in the first half of 2012. The Atkinson firm has a history of more than 40 years in the practice of law. Fowler was established in 1943 and has grown to serve an international market while operating five offices in Florida, including one in Jacksonville. The merger also brings two former presidents of The Florida Bar, Terrence Russell and Jesse Diner, and a former Bar Foundation president, Adele Stone, into the same firm.

• Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland doesn’t usually participate in raffles when he speaks to groups, but he did during a speech recently to the First Coast Tea Party — and he won. His prize? A book, “Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy” by John Fund.

• Christopher Cobb joined the firm of Jimerson & Cobb as a shareholder. Cobb is board certified in construction law by The Florida Bar and focuses his practice on construction and business litigation. Cobb is formerly of Tritt Henderson. Jimerson & Cobb was previously known as Jimerson & Wilson. Former shareholder Harry “Reese” Wilson has joined Fidelity National Financial.
