Nat Glover will be inaugurated Oct. 15 as the 29th president of Edward Waters College.
A former sheriff, Glover began at Edward Waters in May 2010 as interim president and was appointed the permanent president on Feb. 12.
He also was a former special adviser to University of North Florida President John Delaney.
The college said that since Glover’s arrival, Edward Waters has “re-stabilized its financial infrastructure, developed key partnerships with community organizations and has plans for expansion and curricula enhancements currently being developed. “
Inaugural events will include a symposium, luncheon, investiture ceremony, worship at Saint Stephen African Methodist Episcopal Church and a celebration pre-concert reception before the 10th Annual Fine Arts Benefit Concert at the Times-Union Center featuring Grammy Award-winner Al Jarreau.
The investiture ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Adams-Jenkins Community Sports and Music Complex and will be followed by a community reception at 4:30 p.m.
