Construction has begun at the Landing on the third North Florida location of Rush Street. The 7,600 square-foot nightclub and Downtown after-hours destination will be in the former Twisted Martini space on the first floor.

Rush Street is owned by Jimmy DeMarco and partners, who also operate the Chicago Pizza restaurants.

“We are a firm believer in Downtown and the Jacksonville Landing. Chicago Pizza at the Landing has been a huge success, so it only makes sense to add our widely popular and successful Rush Street night club concept to the Landing,” DeMarco said in a statement.

The new club is expected to be open a few days before Florida-Georgia weekend, said Landing Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator Blakeley Ainsworth.

Rush Street is the fourth tenant added to the entertainment and retail venue on the Northbank in the past two months, joining River City Gourmet; Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub, set to open Oct. 15; and Ocean Water Bath & Boutique, scheduled to open next week.
