• Foundation Financial Group has promoted Gregory Trew to division general manager for the company’s Jacksonville center, based at 225 Water St. Trew, a Middleburg native, previously was a section manager within the company and has eight years of industry experience. Before joining Foundation Financial Group, Trew competitively raced ATVs from 1995-2005 and was ranked as high as No. 6 in the professional class.

• The Jacksonville Suns announced a partnership with WCWJ TV-17 to broadcast five Jacksonville Suns games live on local television. The five Sunday games to be broadcast are scheduled April 29, May 20, June 24, July 22 and Aug. 19. The televised games will be the first by the Jacksonville Suns.

• The joint meeting of the City Council Rules and Finance committees is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Council Chambers. Discussion will focus on Mayor Alvin Brown’s proposed economic development reform. Both committees deferred action on the legislation this week.

• The Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida, whose president and CEO is Dawn Emerick, has secured a contract to lead nine area nonprofit hospitals through a comprehensive community health needs assessment now required by the IRS. Participating hospitals are Brooks Rehabilitation, Mayo Clinic, St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside, St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside, Shands Jacksonville, Baptist Medical Center Downtown, Baptist Medical Center Beaches, Baptist Medical Center Nassau and Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Participating health departments are Clay, Duval, Nassau and Putnam counties. The assessment is expected to be completed in June.

• Meanwhile, a subcommittee meeting of City Council Recreation, Community Development, Public Health and Safety Committee members to review the reform legislation is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday in Conference Room A on the 4th floor of City Hall. The three-member subcommittee consists of Council members Doyle Carter, who will chair the group, Robin Lumb and Matt Schellenberg. RCD Chairman Bill Gulliford deferred action on the legislation Tuesday and formed the group, saying it would provide a perspective outside that of the joint committee.

• Gov. Rick Scott appointed Dane Grey of Jacksonville to the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged. Grey, 26, is the president of Elite Parking Services of America.

• The St. Johns Town Center turns green Sunday for Earth Day. In celebration of Earth Day, the shopping center will host an environmental fair from noon-4 p.m., sponsored by the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization and offering demonstrations and information from local sustainability organizations. St. Johns Town Center also will launch new green initiatives, including electric car chargers and the electric parking lot shuttle, the Shop Shuttlebug.
