Jacksonville Jaguars mascot Jaxson de Ville was dancing on the stage at Snyder Memorial, members of the Roar were strolling through Hemming Plaza and team representatives were signing up fans for season tickets.
That was the atmosphere at First Wednesday Art Walk when the theme for the monthly event was “Tealville.”
A smattering of rain didn’t keep football fans and art-lovers from filling the streets and venues for an evening of culture, live music and food and drink.
Downtown Vision Inc., sponsor of Art Walk, distributed information about the Aug. 13-26 “Eat Up Downtown” restaurant promotion. Downtown restaurants from casual to fine dining will be offering three-course dinners at price points of $15, $25 and $35 per person. The Jaguars are scheduled to play a scrimmage at 6:30 p.m. Friday at EverBank Field. Admission is free and the gates open at 5 p.m.
The 2012 preseason begins at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10 with the home team against the New York Giants.
