Suzanne Jenkins and Ashley Smith Juarez received the most votes in the School Board District 3 race, but neither could gain enough to win outright Tuesday. Jenkins unofficially led with more than 5,500 votes to Smith Juarez’s more than 5,100, but in a four-way race, no candidate acquired the threshold needed, which is above the 50-percent level. Neither leaders gained even 40 percent – Jenkins gained 36.7 percent while Smith Juarez gained 33.9 percent. The two will now head to a two-day runoff Nov. 6. The winner will replace W.C. Gentry.
