‘Tee It Up’ for charity golf tournament
After a three-year hiatus, The Young Lawyers Section of The Jacksonville Bar Association (YLS) will host its “Tee It Up” for charity golf tournament Oct. 18 at the prestigious Ponte Vedra Inn & Club – Ocean Course. The format will be captain’s choice with prizes for first, second and third place foursomes. Prizes will also be awarded for longest drive and closest-to-pin. The proceeds raised from the golf tournament will benefit the Catholic Charities Jacksonville Regional Office.
Catholic Charities Jacksonville Regional Office (CCJ) provides direct support to persons and families including emergency financial assistance with rent, mortgage, deposits, utilities, food to prevent homelessness, adoption services and refugee resettlement services. Through its support programs, CCJ directly serves more than 11,700 individuals on the First Coast and provides more than 46,000 services. In addition to great golf, a complimentary lunch will be available to players at check-in, as well as complimentary range balls and cold beverages during play. An awards ceremony and reception will be provided for volunteers and participants at the end of the tournament as we celebrate the winning teams and enjoy more free drinks and a variety of tapas. There will also be raffle prizes. The entry fee for the tournament is $1,250 per foursome.

The JBA Basketball League
The JBA’s upcoming basketball league gets underway on Aug. 22. This year, the games will be played at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings at the JAX Indoors Sports complex.
