NAR installs new officers

Gary Thomas, a Realtor in Orange County, Calif., was installed last month as 2013 president of the National Association of Realtors.

The installation was part of the association’s board meeting during the Realtors Conference and Expo in Orlando.

In 2012, Thomas was NAR president-elect, and he was NAR first vice president in 2011.  He has been in the business for more than 35 years and is broker/owner of Evergreen Realty in Villa Park, Calif.  

Steve Brown of Dayton, Ohio, is the 2013 president-elect.

Other officers:

Chris Polychron from Hot Springs, Ark. is the first vice president. 

• William J. Armstrong III from Damascus, Md., treasurer.  

• Leslie Rouda Smith from Dallas, vice president and liaison to committees.  

• Bill Brown of Oakland, Calif., vice president and liaison to government affairs.  

Frank Kowalski of Miami is the regional vice president representing the states that include Florida.
