The Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association held its holiday party Dec. 4 at Bistro AIX in San Marco.
About 50 people attended the annual holiday gathering of association members and guests, with the event serving as a social gathering and fundraiser for Community Connections. Attendees were asked to bring gift cards to be donated to mothers at the nonprofit, which offers day care, after-school programs and transitional housing for women, children and families. Its goal is to help connect those in need with the type of services they require to assist them.
The Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association was founded in 1982 to provide support and networking for women lawyers in Jacksonville. Membership is open to all attorneys, male and female, in Jacksonville and surrounding counties.
Its next meeting is at noon Jan. 10 at the River Club Downtown and will feature guest speaker Jim Kowalski, new executive director of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid.
