• The Orlando-based firm of Bichler, Clelland, Oliver, PLLC has opened a Jacksonville office. John Rahaim II, managing partner of Rahaim, Watson, Dearing & Moore, will be Of Counsel for the Jacksonville office. The firm specializes in representing the workers’ compensation needs of first responders. Rahaim is a Florida Bar-certified workers’ compensation attorney.

• Lakewood Presbyterian Church will honor the memory of Ernst Mueller with a free concert series at 7 p.m. Feb. 26, March 4, Aug. 19, Sept. 30 and Dec. 9 and at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. May 20. Mueller, who served as an assistant U.S. attorney and was senior deputy general counsel with the City, died in July after a three-year battle with ALS. Two of the concerts are benefits. The first will donate proceeds to the Florida chapter of the ALS Association and the Aug. 19 performance will donate money and food items to the United Community Outreach Ministry. • The Jacksonville Economic Development Commission is scheduled to consider a lease agreement Thursday for Sunrise Aviation Inc., a flight school company, at Cecil Commerce Center. Sunrise partnered with Florida State College at Jacksonville to help provide flight training for students at the FSCJ Aviation Center of Excellence at Cecil. Sunrise wants to lease an office building of 1,800 square feet at a monthly base rent of $1,200 for a year, according to a commission memo.

• Gov. Rick Scott appointed Leslie Scott Jean-Bart to the Florida Elections Commission. Jean-Bart has practiced law with Jacksonville-based Farah and Farah since 2001. Her term began Friday and ends Dec. 31, 2015

• Mayor Alvin Brown’s Business Builder summit is scheduled noon-6 p.m. Tuesday at the Osborn Center. The instructional sessions include “Shop Talk: Business” with U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Karen Mills; “Practical Chat” by George Cloutier of American Management Services; “Shop Talk: Banking” with Tom and Sue Bennett with the First Oklahoma Bank; and a “ Showcase Session” featuring a vendor expo. Brown will conclude the event with a call to action.

Mayor Alvin Brown also invites residents age 60 and over to join the City of Jacksonville for the annual “Mayor’s Walk for Senior Wellness.” The free event is designed to promote active lifestyles for seniors. The event is 10 a.m. March 3. The 1.5-mile walk takes place downtown, beginning at Metropolitan Park. The route continues around EverBank Field and the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, ending at Metropolitan Park. Volunteers are needed to help set up, assist and serve participants. • Reece Alford joined Acosta Sales & Marketing as general counsel and secretary, replacing current General Counsel and Secretary Drew Prusiecki, who will retire March 1 after almost 12 years with Acosta. Alford joins Acosta from The St. Joe Company.
