A three-month search has ended with the appointment of Peter Keller as president of Jacksonville-based logistics company Sea Star Line.

Its previous president, Steve Hastings, resigned in November.

A shipping industry veteran, Keller served Sea Star Line as a consultant during the recent restructuring of the company.

“Peter knows this market and has a long history in this trade. He brings insight, experience and vision for the future. We are fortunate to have him join the TOTE Inc. and Sea Star team,” said Anthony Chiarello, president of TOTE Inc., Sea Star Line’s parent organization.

Before establishing an international maritime consultancy, Peter I. Keller and Associates, Keller was executive vice president and chief operating officer of NYK (Nippon Yusen Kaisha) Group Americas Inc.

Sea Star Line offers service to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Tortola. Its port facilities and operations provide the ability to handle lift-on/lift-off cargo and roll-on/roll-off cargo, big box and non-containerized freight.
