• FirstAtlantic Bank has announced that Wally Barrs, vice president and commercial banker, has relocated to FirstAtlantic Bank’s new office in Orange Park. Barrs, a Clay County resident, has more than 30 years of banking and financial services experience in the greater Jacksonville market.
• We reported Friday that the design for a freestanding 7-Eleven store at 9 N. Main St. was approved, but that won’t be the only place Downtown to buy a Slurpee or a Big Gulp. The international convenience store chain has leased space in the concourse of the BB&T Building at 200 W. Forsyth St. for a pedestrian-friendly, urban-design unit.

• The City issued building permits for R.L. Haines Construction LLC to make interior and exterior renovations for Coggin Buick-GMC of Orange Park at 7245 Blanding Blvd. at a project cost of $955,860; Callaway Contracting Inc. will install a pump station building for JEA at 4140 Kingsbury St. at a project cost of $84,000; and Southern Coast Roofing & Construction Inc. will handle a roofing project for the Islamic Center at 2333 St. Johns Bluff Road S. at a cost of $30,000.
