• Farah & Farah added four attorneys: Joseph Brown will divide him time between the firm’s Gainesville and Tallahassee offices, and Mark Calvin, Jeffrey Gadd and Corri Hunt work at the Downtown office.

• The Law Offices of L. Lee Lockett and Stone & Associates have merged to form the firm of Stone Lockett. It will have offices in Marsh Landing and San Marco and continue in the practice areas of criminal law, family law and DUI.

• Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Friday that after its merger with Bi-Lo LLC, Bi-Lo Chief Financial Officer Brian Carney will be appointed CFO of the combined company. Winn-Dixie CFO Bennett Nussbaum will serve as “integration lead” after the merger of the two supermarket operators, leading all integration activities of the combined company. Winn-Dixie already announced that CEO Peter Lynch will leave after the merger, with Bi-Lo Chairman Randall Onstead becoming CEO of the combined company.

• McGlinchey Stafford PLLC added six new members, including Mark New in the Jacksonville office. New practices commercial, consumer financial services and real estate litigation.

• The Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women is accepting nominations for women who have made lasting contributions to the Jacksonville community. Four local women will be selected as poster honorees celebrating Women’s History Month in March and recognized at a reception at the University of North Florida Thomas G. Carpenter Library.  This year’s theme is “Women in Motion.”  Nomination forms are on the commission’s website at www.coj.net, search keyword women.  They can also be requested by contacting Alice Checorski at 630-3632 or at [email protected]. Nominations are due Feb. 6.
