• Clear Channel Outdoor — Jacksonville created the Clearly Jacksonville community advisory committee to help decide how digital billboard technology will support Jacksonville’s business and nonprofit communities through donated board space. Committee members are Mike Anania, James Casey, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Chief Robert Connor, Ennis Davis, Ann Dugger, Brenda Ezell, Suzie Hutto, Diane Kerr, Linda Lanier, Jim Mace and Steve Williams.

• On Wednesday, Jersey Mike’s Subs will open its new 1615 Hendricks Ave. restaurant, which is its second area store. The grand-opening fundraiser will be Aug. 1-12 for Foster Closet, a nonprofit that provides Northeast Florida foster parents and relative and nonrelative placements with clothing, children’s accessories, toys and children’s furniture. 

• The public can hear updates about the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening Study being conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers through bimonthly conference calls set for 10 a.m. the first Monday of every other month — Aug. 6, Oct. 1 and Dec. 3. • Correction: In a story in Thursday’s Daily Record on the JEA water pipeline project, the techniques used to connect the water systems on both sides of the St. Johns were incorrectly identified. The JEA contractor is using horizontal directional drilling to install a water transmission pipeline near the Mathews Bridge that will connect the water systems on both sides of the St. Johns River. Microtunneling is the technique used to install the pipeline under the MLK and Hart Expressways.
