• Gregory Lineberry and J. Evan Gibbs have joined the Jacksonville office of the Constangy, Brooks & Smith law firm as associates. Lineberry’s practice is focused primarily on employment litigation. Gibbs represents employers in state and federal court in employment issues and he advises companies on compliance matters.
• Early voting in Duval County for the 2012 primary starts Saturday, but you can meet candidates in advance at Jacksonville HobNob 2012. The free event is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Hyatt Downtown. Attendees can vote in the straw poll while there.

• As for early voting, U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown and the Jacksonville chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, several Duval County residents and the Duval County Democratic Executive Committee said Friday they were filing a federal civil rights lawsuit opposing the cutback in the length of the early voting period approved by the Legislature.
• Matt Greene has been promoted to market president, North Florida region with First Southern Bank. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of First Southern Bank’s offices in St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra Beach.
