The search to replace retiring JEA Managing Director and CEO Jim Dickenson has been narrowed to six candidates.
Dickenson, 60, announced his retirement in January, although the JEA board extended his Aug. 3 contract expiration to February.
The board agreed to conduct a nationwide search for his replacement. JEA board members Ron Townsend, Ashton Hudson, Mike Hightower and Cynthia Austin comprise the search committee.
They enlisted the national search firm Mycoff, Fry & Prouse LLC.
The initial list of possible candidates was narrowed to six. They are:
• Joseph Belechak, Westinghouse Electric Co. former senior vice president of nuclear fuels.
• Charles Black, Tampa Electric Co. former president and current independent consultant for Black & Black Consulting Services.
• James Chansler, JEA chief operating officer.
• Susan Hughes, JEA chief human resources officer.
• Paul McElroy, JEA chief financial officer.
• Herman Morris Jr., Memphis Light, Gas & Water former president and current chief legal officer for the City of Memphis.
