The Government Services Partnership Institute hosted its first North Florida Leaders Summit on public-private partnerships Friday at the Omni.

The event was attended by about 150 people, including many public officials from Northeast Florida counties.

Shawn Hiester, institute managing director, said the event was a way to bring government officials and private business leaders together to educate each about public-private partnership opportunities for cost savings and successes in other areas of the country.

“It is something that is doable and manageable,” Hiester said.

The four-hour program included sessions focusing on “Why Here, Why Now?” and “Real World Case Studies” with local, state and national panelists.
